About the Blog and Me
Research shows that we make over 200 decisions about food and eating every single day. Imagine! What we eat is only the beginning — we also make snap decisions about where to eat, how much to have, who to eat with and more. Paying closer attention to these details can help your weight and control your appetite.
This blog provides practical tips, tricks and advice to help you make better food decisions for successful weight management. It also highlights relatable lifestyle issues and trends to broaden your perspective and help keep you informed and at times entertained.
I’m the author of the ebook Skinny On Slim The Little Black Dress of Diet Books, a non-finger wagging, relatable RD, funny, femme, foodie, aficionado, successful weight loser telling it like it is. I balance work, spouse, family, house, travel, budgets, home, food and the works, just like you do!
I’m a registered dietitian (RD) by trade with 29 years of experience in counselling, corporate, food and nutrition policy, communications and project management. I am a past member and co-chair of Health Canada’s Food Expert Advisory Committee (FEAC) and past President and CEO of the Canadian Council of Food and Nutrition (CCFN), Francy Pillo-Blocka RD FDC by name. I have an opinion on most things “food”. And oh, I’m a blogger by night at “Through Thick and Thin”.
