Make a List, Check it Twice & Stick to it!

I found myself grocery shopping near the dinner hour the other day, breaking the number 1 grocery shopping rule – don’t go to the store hungry. Truth be told I didn’t start out hungry but as I too’d and fro’d mulling about, my tumbly started to get rumbly. That’s when visions of sugar plums started dancing in my head, then into my cart – nay nay I say!

I must say I tried to keep my head about me and reminded myself to stick to my grocery list to bring home healthy eating possibilities for the week. As my hunger grew I hurried up before I found myself sampling at some of the food stations strategically placed in the aisles. Here are some of the combinations of food choices to consider when shopping for din din possibilities:

  • roast chicken, potatoes & sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts, salad
  • spaghetti with asparagus, garlic, pea meal and cheese
  • bbq’d pork tenderloin, corn on the cob, salad
  • chili con carne
  • home made mac & cheese, salad

The possibilities are endless to bring home combinations of food that tantalize your tastebuds, warm the cockles of your heart, fill up the family all made in a flash.

Keep your head about you, bring a list, check it twice and stick to it!! Most of all, don’t go hungry :-)
