Channel Focus Away from Food

If you’re trying to take back your mid drift after the ho ho ho holiday season noshing you may want to consider switching off the tube or steering clear of the food programming.

I just read about a study that observed people watching TV – one group watching a food-related TV program the other non-food related. Both groups were offered candies while watching.

The researchers found that restrained eaters ate more calories while watching a food-related TV program whereas unrestrained eaters were not influenced by the content of the TV program.

If you’re trying to get back on track consider cutting back on the TV altogether (especially food programming) and channel your energies into getting outside to enjoy what the season has to offer.
