Food Revolution – PRESTO Pesto Sauce

I love the versatility of a pesto sauce. You can add it to pasta, spread it on flatbread or bread dough and make “dough OH so very dear”!! You can marinate various meats with it. The possibilities span your imagination. It packs a flavour punch like nothing else. And for me it is easy to make – yes a very important element of any recipe!!

1/3 cup olive oil
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped parsley
1 garlic clove quartered
1/2 cup basil (or 2 Tbsp dried)
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Prepare all ingredients and add to your blender or food processor. I usually throw in a handful of pine nuts. Cover and blend at medium speed until well mixed. Voila! Refrigerate or freeze. Mix well before using.

I love having some of this tasty sauce on hand to change up the pasta saucy scene. Add this to spaghetti and sprinkle some parmesan and serve with a side salad for a perfect weeknight dinner.

Roll out some pizza dough and spread it over, adding fresh herbs and spices on hand along with some favourite cooked veggies, sprinkle some cheeses and bake at 425 degrees F like you would a pizza and you have food for the gods and goddesses in your household!!

A few evenings ago I spread some on pork tenderloin before bar-be-quing and it tasted divine.

So, this fine recipe takes no time to make up and spruces foods up to the max, enjoy!!
